As our Great Organization again gathered in Greensboro to provide our membership an opportunity to gather facts on some of the recent and exciting changes facing of our great Fraternity, some of us were surprised to see that indeed there are teeth in the enforcement of our General Laws when they are not heeded.

Many Lodges and Officers were dismayed to hear their Lodge names sounded as having penalties for not heeding last years warning concerning attendance at our International Moose Legion Convention in Anaheim. These penalties struck at the hearts of many lodges and lodge members as many found their lodges “not in good standing”, and not permitting many Lodge Honors in the coming year and the lack of fellowship quota's.

These penalties also apply if attendance of Lodge Governors and Administrators do not attend State and District meetings. Lodges who have been complying in the past now see that they obedience to the General Laws bore fruit. District Presidents welcomed these sanctions in some cases as it's hard for them to travel and hold District Meetings only to have a small number of lodges represented.

As we go into the other good news, we saw a number of new Fellows and Academy Friendships awarded, new State Appointments made and New District Presidents Elected to some very deserving men and women who have worked hard and supported their individual lodges and chapters to the inch degree. Many smiles were observed as a number of congratulations were offered as families and friends help celebrate those who were honored. Our congratulations go out to all who received such awards

Our official visitor - Darrel O'Brien brought other news which should give all of us time to reflect on the true meaning of some upcoming changes which will greatly benefit Lodges and Chapters. One such upcoming change is the hiring of "Senior Analysts" for North and South Carolina to assist and analyze Lodge and Chapter Operations in the future. Other good news entailed the Membership Gains which saw our overall drop out rate slowed this past year with the great recruitment campaigns that were offered. This good news was welcomed after several decreased membership years and we credit the lodges and chapters for their gallant efforts given. Congratulations on our Ladies who worked so hard to move the WOTM forward.
